The Palmiry Museum is a symbolic place. During World War II, the Nazis performed in the forests surrounding the village 21 mass executions of over 1700 Warsaw dwellers. The Museum commemorates the victims of those crimes and tells the story of other military operations run in the Kampinos Forest. The Museum also showcases the process of exhumation of the victims and establishment of their cemetery, located nearby. In Palmiry Museum – Memorial Site history classes are organized for primary and high school pupils.
