The Long Night of Museums

The Long Night of Museums is an annual event during which museums, galleries, and other cultural institutions open their collections to visitors free of charge or for a symbolic fee—often after dark.
This year, we are also joining this international initiative! On May 17, outside regular opening hours, The Museum of Warsaw and its branches will be open in the evening. On this day, we invite you to experience unique night-time tours of exhibitions and historic buildings.
Museum of Warsaw, 42 Old Town Square
Opening hours: 18:00–01:00 (last entry at 00:30)
In addition to a self-guided tour of the The Things of Warsaw exhibition, you are welcome to join special guide tour at 20:00 led by museum educators through centuries-old cellars. You’ll see the oldest surviving ceilings in the city and learn the fascinating story of how they were preserved. Participation is free, but tickets are required.
Starting at 19:30, the museum library will also be open. Its walls are decorated with original mural paintings transferred from the ISKRA publishing house. The artworks were created by renowned Polish illustrators, including Janusz Stanny, Janusz Grabiański, Anna Gosławska-Lipińska (Ha-Ga), Szymon Kobyliński, Mirosław Pokora, and Jan Młodożeniec. This is a unique opportunity to explore the library’s varsaviana collection, which is available for daily loan.
