The Barbican makes part of the medieval defensive walls in Warsaw whose reconstruction began in the 1930s. World War II put a hold to reconstruction works, but after the war it was restored along with the Old Town. Inside the Barbican you can find a permanent exhibition which showcases the transformations of the building itself and of the entire city walls throughout the centuries.
