Warsaw caught my eye: The summer that changed everything. Festival 1955

A unique guided tour with people with migration experience of the exhibition “The Summer That Changed It All: The Festival of 1955”.
- Are you interested in the history of Warsaw?
- Are you inspired by other cultures?
- Do you love meeting people from all over the world?
Then this tour is for you!
Come and learn about Warsaw from the perspective of persons with migration experience.
This tour will be guided by Patricia Abuya and Thelma Joroge from Kenya, and Irshad Mohammed from India. They will share with you what caught their eyes in Warsaw and how items on exhibition relate to their culture and their experience. They’ll tackle themes of freedom and ideology, as well as propaganda and social customs. They will draw on the histories of the places they come from. You’ll see the events of 1955—when Warsaw hosted a colourful youth festival—in a completely new, surpising light.
The tour will be run in English.
It will take place in Museum of Warsaw at 32 Main Square. Let’s meet by the cash register to the temporary expositions at 32 Main Square (it’s inside the third tenement from the right): maps.app.goo.gl
We are co-organizing this event with the Polish Migration Forum.
