Panorama of Warsaw

Panorama of Warsaw

The rooftop terrace of The Museum of Warsaw is the highest viewing point open to the public in the Old Town Square. It offers a breath-taking view on the rebuilt houses, churches, the Castle, and the city.

The Things of Warsaw

Visit The Museum of Warsaw and its principal exhibit called The Things of Warsaw, composed of three sections. The History of the Tenement Houses is one of those sections. This part of the exhibition tells the story of the 11 houses on the northern side of the Market Square, which was established around 1300.

Gothic buildings began to appear here in mid-15th century. They were inhabited by representatives of the wealthiest families, town councillors, aldermen, and mayors of Old Warsaw. Since 1955, when the first permanent exhibition was opened in these tenement houses, their interiors have been open to visitors.

Panorama of Warsaw

The sightseeing tour must end with a visit to the viewing point, accessible via a winding staircase. The climb is worth the effort, because the rooftop affords a magnificent panorama of Warsaw’s Old Town.

You can spend your leisure time in Warsaw by actively wandering around our historic tenement houses and discovering the history of the city.
