Room of Souvenirs
The souvenirs emerged along with the fashion for travelling dating back to the second half of the 17th century. Their task was to mark places and events. The Room features souvenirs with the ever popular images: the Royal Castle, Teatralny Square or the Łazienki Royal Gardens. The souvenirs dating back to the interwar period often depict the silhouette of the Chopin’s monument, unveiled in 1926, whereas the end of the 1940s boasts the W-Z route open for users in 1949. The Warsaw Mermaid is yet another popular souvenir motif which often adorns metal jewellery and clothing.
